Scolymia Coral, also known as Single-Headed Brain Coral, is a striking LPS coral that forms large, round, fleshy polyps with vibrant colors and intricate patterns. Scolymia comes in a range of stunning hues, including reds, greens, purples, and blues, often displaying bold contrasts and mesmerizing patterns. Its compact, round shape makes it a popular choice for creating focal points in aquariums.

Scolymia prefers moderate to low lighting and low water flow, which helps to keep its polyps fully extended and healthy. While it primarily depends on photosynthesis through its symbiotic zooxanthellae, occasional feedings of small plankton or coral foods can enhance its growth and coloration, particularly in nutrient-poor systems.

This coral is peaceful and can be placed near other non-aggressive species without risk of stinging or aggression. Be sure to provide adequate space for Scolymia to expand, as it can be sensitive to nearby coral competition.
