Leptoseris Corals are a unique and visually striking LPS coral species that form flat, encrusting colonies with a smooth, leathery texture. Their colors range from greens and blues to browns and purples, with some species displaying an iridescent shimmer under the right lighting. Leptoseris grows slowly but can form beautiful, extensive mats over rocks and substrates, making it an excellent choice for aquascaping.

Leptoseris thrives in moderate lighting and low to medium water flow, which helps keep the coral’s surface clean and allows the polyps to extend fully. Like most LPS corals, it relies primarily on photosynthesis through its symbiotic zooxanthellae but will also benefit from occasional feedings of plankton or coral foods to promote growth and coloration.

Leptoseris is a peaceful coral that is ideal for reef tanks with other non-aggressive species. It is best to give it enough space to encrust and grow without interference from other corals, as it may be sensitive to high nutrient levels or water quality fluctuations.
