About this coral
Almost WYSIWYG: You will receive a 3–4 polyp frag from the colony shown.
Coral: Snitch Zoanthid Coral
Classification: Zoanthus sp.
Frag size: Approximately 3–4 polyps
Difficulty: Easy
Lighting: Low to Moderate
Water flow: Moderate and indirect
Snitch Zoas have a reddish orange skirt, blue face and white to yellowish around near the mouth. The frag will be cut from the photographed colony.
Place the frag where it receives enough indirect flow to prevent debris from settling without keeping the polyps closed. Snitch Zoas obtain most of their energy from light, although occasional fine coral food may support growth.
Handling: Zoanthids may contain palytoxin. Wear gloves and eye protection when handling or fragging them, wash your hands afterward and never expose zoanthid-covered rock to boiling water, hot water or steam. The risk is low but exporsure can be very serious.
