About this coral
You are buying the exact coral in the photo. This is an approximately 3.5″ Ultra Scoly with some of the most intense color we have had in the shop. Under blue spectrum reef lighting, wide bands of neon green radiate out from the center across the whole disc. Between them, the outer rim glows magenta and hot pink, with fine red lines tracing the ridges. The center is a deep blue with violet spots, so the green and pink pop even harder against it. Green, pink, red and blue on one polyp, with clean, sharp edges between the colors. Conditioned in our Key West systems and photographed in our showroom.
About Scolymia (Scoly)
Scolys are large single-polyp LPS corals known for fleshy, rounded discs and bold, high-contrast color. They are one of the centerpiece corals of the hobby, and multi-color pieces with this kind of pattern are rare. Each one is unique, which is why they are sold as one-of-a-kind specimens.
Care Guide
Easy to moderate care. Scolys reward lower light, gentle flow and regular feeding with full inflation and steady growth.
- Lighting: Low to Medium — PAR 50–150. Too much light can fade the color.
- Flow: Low to moderate — enough to keep it clean without pushing the tissue around.
- Placement: Sandbed or the lowest rock, where it can fully inflate.
- Feeding: High — meaty foods like mysis, chopped shrimp or coral pellets placed on its mouth once or twice a week. Scolys grow faster and hold color better when fed.
- Aggression: Semi-aggressive. It can put out sweepers at night, so give it a few inches of space.
- Water Parameters: Temp 76–78°F, salinity 1.025–1.026, Alk 8–9 dKH, Ca 420–440, Mg 1300–1400. Stability matters more than exact numbers.
