About this coral
You are buying the exact coral in the photo. This is a Holy Grail Banana Torch with short, fat tentacles packed tight across the whole head, and it is splitting, so you are getting a colony that is already growing. Under blue spectrum reef lighting the tentacles are a rich banana yellow-green, and every one ends in a bright cyan tip. That cyan against the yellow is the contrast that makes a Holy Grail stand out across the room. Conditioned in our Key West systems and photographed in our showroom.
About Holy Grail Torch Coral (Euphyllia glabrescens)
Torch corals are LPS with tentacles that move with every pulse of flow. Holy Grail is the top tier of torch, known for solid neon color with contrasting tips. Short, fat tentacle pieces have a dense, full look that holds its shape in the tank, and a head that is already splitting means more heads to come.
Care Guide
Moderate care. Torches reward stable water, moderate light and regular feeding with full extension and new heads.
- Lighting: Medium — PAR 100–200. Acclimate it to new lighting over a week or two.
- Flow: Medium — enough to keep the tentacles moving, never a direct jet.
- Placement: Mid rockwork, with plenty of open space around it.
- Feeding: Medium — small meaty foods like mysis or coral pellets once or twice a week.
- Aggression: High. Torches put out long sweeper tentacles that sting nearby corals, so give it at least 6 inches of space. It can sit next to other Euphyllia.
- Water Parameters: Temp 76–78°F, salinity 1.025–1.026, Alk 8–9 dKH, Ca 420–440, Mg 1300–1400. Stability matters more than exact numbers.
